About the library
Welcome to Kibogora Polytechnic Library
The library, home to the best study locations on campus, is happy to provide a variety of services to enhance the student learning experience and support the University's academic purpose. KP Library houses a broad and diversified collection of academic resources, both physical and electronic, to facilitate learning, research, and discovery.
The institution is divided into two campuses: the main campus and the Rusizi campus branch, both of which house roughly 10,000 physical volumes and provide access to subscribed periodicals as well as other free Open Access Databases and Electronic periodicals to facilitate Academicians in conducting out their research findings.
The Main campus library is located on the 2nd floor near the lecturer's room in Nyamasheke District while the Rusizi library is located in the basement opposite the reception of the Rusizi campus branch situated in Rusizi District.

Monday to Sunday: 7:00 am to 10:00 pm

- Respect quiet zones at all times.
- Return borrowed books on time.
- No food or drink inside the library.
Library Rules and Regulations
The following people are allowed to use the library:
- All registered students of the University
- Faculty and other staff in the University
- Known members of the community and those with a genuine need have limited access to the library (e.g., Alumni and External users)
- Library equipment may not be moved, modified, or tampered with without permission from the librarian.
No more taking out library furniture, especially chairs, for meetings and so on. - Users shall not obtain or use a library card under false pretenses.
No student is allowed to check-out or check-in a book using someone else’s ID. - Foods and drinks should not be taken to the library.
Borrowing Procedure
- Borrowing period is strictly between 7am and 10pm from Monday to Sunday.
- A user must be a registered student in the current term to be able to use the library services.
- All students must present their college ID before borrowing any library materials.
- Students are allowed to borrow a maximum of 1 book for a period of 1 week.
- Lecturers and administrators are allowed only to borrow 2 books for 2 weeks only. Kindly respect library support staff by adhering to their requests while in the library.
- All borrowed materials must be returned on or before the due date. Failure to return books on time will require payment of 500 francs at the cashier’s office. Please take note.
- Students are not allowed to borrow books on behalf of others or transfer borrowed materials to other students.
- All reference materials (dissertations, atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias) must be used only in the library. To take them out, please seek permission from library staff.
- All users will be held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials in their possession and will be required to meet the cost of replacement and processing.
